The teacher provides a model for student work. They demonstrate the upcoming learning process and tasks and explore the social context of content. The context is explicity examined, as well as hidden meanings, structure and components of the model work.
The quality teaching elements include attention to metalanguage, social support, high expectations, deep understanding and self-direction.
